Unfortunately, the con didn't rent out enough space for all the people that wanted to attend this year. They capped attendance at 1500 per day. I feel really bad for everyone who couldn't get into the con.
...but I didn't have to deal with any of that since I was a GUEST! I didn't have to stand in line to get my badge. muahahaha.
A guest, you say? Why yes. If you haven't heard already, I was in an interactive production run by Concept Galaxy ([link]) where Carmen Sandiego stole the convention's ticket sales. I was part of ACME, a team of heroes trying to stop her. I cosplayed as Rika Nonaka (both Saturday and Sunday to keep the game and script consistent), and I was wearing a pair of one-day wear contacts that weren't my prescription. >_<;; I really want to get some of my own soon...
Friday night, us C.G. folk met in Agent Mayhem's hotel room to run lines. I got to meet the rest of the people we were working with that I hadn't already met. We got to see the money with our faces on it that was used for the game ([link]). ^_^ I frickin' loved those Rika bucks!
So, as a guest, I expected we'd be using the guest room. Makes sense, right?
Well, I went in there to see if it'd be safe to leave a bag there, and like... it was this small meeting room with a table and some office chairs. o-o No one was in there, so I didn't dare leave anything in there. Instead, I put my bag in Agent Mayhem's hotel room. Each time I visited the guest room was a different strange surprise. Never were any of the guests actually in there. There was a cake on the table at one point, and during another visit someone was conducting an interview. I was honestly very confused. I ended up storing my extra stuff in Agent Mayhem's hotel room the whole weekend. XD When in public, I tried to refer to it as the "ACME Storage Room" because I often had to ask to borrow the key to get something from the room.
Some stuff happened while getting ready for the opening ceremonies that I'd rather not tell in detail... basically, we ended up being unprepared for the opening skit. It wasn't too bad aside from the fact that none of us knew where to stand and a couple of lines were skipped. You'd never be able to tell by watching it though.
Also during the opening ceremonies, they showed a staff-produced video. It was a comedic take on getting ready for the convention.
The con chair asked a staff member if there was a guest list yet.
The staff member replied, "uh... DustyRoxas?"
For those of you that don't know, Dusty is my best friend, and it was really epic and funny to have them mention her in their video! xD
Later in the video, Uncle Yo murmured his famous line from my youtube video, "Bees... everywhere... bees everywhere..."
I ended up being too busy with the production to attend Robert Axelrod's autograph session. (The only scheduled thing I went to other than what I was acting in was Uncle Yo's Comedy Hour). I was disappointed up until I walked by the voice acting panel late Saturday night and saw him from the hallway!
I came back right as the panel ended, and he autographed my Wizardmon card! ^__^
Time to mention people!
On sunday,
I was unaware that
I didn't see it in person, but Uncle Yo was wearing a Sailor Moon outfit during the masquerade! XD
In other news... I caught con plague. >_< I went to school on monday but didn't realize it was bad enough to stay home until it was too late. I made it all the way up until 8th period, when I was sure I had a fever. Luckily it was the last period of the day, so I just layed down in the nurse's office looking at my Zenkaikon pictures (I had my camera with me to show my friends pics). As of now, I'm still sick.
I'll probably think of something later that I forgot to mention in this journal entry. ._. knowing me it'll be one of the most exciting parts of the con. lol whatever, I'm too tired to think.
Good job if you read all of that, by the way. o-o

I still can't believe we missed each other. Seriously!

To live, that would be an awfully big adventure.
;o; I know, right? Bahhhhh... next time I guess.

I wanted to go to it since July of last year, seeing as it was the only "local" con around where I live in Eastern PA.
Still really upset that I couldn't make it and give you and Dusty hugs.
*Air-internet hug*
I was looking forward to getting pictures with you, too! >_<;;

We may be going to AnimeNEXT, which isn't too far away (New Jersey), and Otakon isn't that far away either. Not sure if you can make it to either of those? If not, there's always Zenkaikon 2010.

Ooh. I'm not sure about any of those, but they would sure be fun to go to!
If they aren't too expensive/far away, I might be able to make it.
I'll have to look them up. Thanks for the recommendations though!
